Pebbles Day Nursery has separate rooms for the babies, toddlers and older children to ensure that our little people of different ages receive the care, attention and appropriate support that they will need to grow and develop.

Baby Room – This room is for our babies and allows for our younger children to receive dedicated care.  Babies can join us from 3 months. The play room is bright, colourful and equipped with toys to stimulate the imagination and to develop co-ordination.  We have a separate cot room where each of our babies has his or her own cot to make sure that they have the quality rest times that they need during the day.

Activities are based on first experiences helping the babies to develop an understanding and awareness of people and their surroundings.  We provide opportunities for our babies to explore and discover using treasure baskets full of natural materials to inspire interest.  Daily activities include listening to songs and rhymes, finger play and flip up discovery books.  We also have a soft play area designed to help our babies to explore and discover their physical environment and a designated nappy changing area.

Toddlers Rooms – This room is for our toddlers, usually up to 3 years of age.   At this age, the children are beginning to show curiosity and an awareness of what is going on around them. So the design of our Toddlers Room means our toddlers can make choices by moving easily from one play area to the next.

We have introduced a quiet corner, a home corner, a construction area and an art area. Our toddlers can choose which activities they wish to carry out or the toys they want to play with from the low level shelves and toy boxes positioned around the room.  There is also a quiet area with sleep mats for those necessary daily naps.

The room is also close to a designated toilet area so our staff can follow each individual child’s toilet training plan.

When the weather is fine, our toddlers are encouraged to play outdoors in our safe and fully supervised play area.

Preschool room  – designed specifically for our preschool children, the staff working in this room organise a daily routine around our children’s interests and their stage of learning.  Our little people can choose from messy and role-play areas, construction area, role-play, number and writing tables, book area and junior computers.  Activities are planned following the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum enabling the children to make choices to allow them to become independent thinkers and taking responsibility for their own learning.

Additional rooms – in addition to our rooms for children of different ages, we also have additional rooms for specific activities including:

• Soft play room
• Sensory room
• Story room
• Sleep room
• Dining room.

Indoors and Outdoors

We have large, safe outdoor play areas at each nursery with a range of games and activities for our Pebbles children to enjoy. There is also ample, off road parking at each setting which makes dropping off your child safe, secure and hassle free.
