Dear Parents & Carers.

We’re now well into the Summer holidays and our holiday club is as popular as ever (fortunately the fine weather has meant we have spent lots of time in our outdoor space as you’ve probably seen from the photos on social media!).

Staffing Update

We now have CIW approval for our staff changes, so we would like to formally welcome Rhian Davies  as the Nursery Manager (Person in Charge).  You can read more about Rhian and our other staff members here

We are also looking for a nursery practitioner to cover maternity leave from September 2021 (with the potential for a full time post in the future).  If you know of anyone who may be looking for work in a nursery, please ask them to send their cv to

September Intake

We are now taking bookings for places for September 2021. In addition to offering drop offs and pick ups from schools in the SA3 and SA2 areas, we are now also able to offer the same service to children in Cila and Pen y Fro primary schools.

Again, if you know of any parents who are looking for child care and in particular breakfast and after school club services, then please ask them contact us at

New Kitchen

We are currently extending and having a new kitchen installed in the nursery to accommodate the growing number of children we are now looking after.  Nanny Pat can’t wait to have this extra space and improved facilities to provide our little ones with healthy and balanced meals!

Sun Hats & Sun Screen

As we continue to enjoy lovely summer weather please can you ensure you send in sun hats and sunscreen for your children, all labelled with their names.  This is so we can spend as much time as possible outdoors and we want to keep our little ones protected from the sun’s harmful rays at all times.

Clothes Labelling/Lost Clothing

On that note, please can you ensure that your little ones’ belongings (clothes, bags, shoes etc) are all labelled with their names.  This means we are able to ensure they have everything they came in with when they leave !

Also, if your child is missing some items of clothing, shoes, toys, etc. please let a member of staff know.  We have a build up of items left behind and you will be able to come into the nursery and have a look to see if we have any of your little ones’ stuff!

The Childcare Offer for Wales – Help with childcare costs for working parents of 3 to 4 year olds.

Under the Childcare Offer for Wales, most working parents of 3 to 4 year olds can now claim funds towards the cost of childcare. You could claim 30 hours of early education and childcare in Wales a week, for up to 48 weeks of the year.

This means 30 hours of early education and childcare in Wales for eligible parents.  Get more information here.

We’d be very grateful if our parents and carers could leave a review about the nursery on our Google Listing (just search for Pebbles Day Nursery and click on the reviews on the listing on right of the page) or our Facebook page

Many thanks

If you have any queries or questions about your child’s time at Pebbles Day Care, please don’t hesitate to ask a member of staff.  You can also view our full parents and carers handbook on our website (at the bottom of the About Us page).
